Recycling Programme
We partnered up with Terracycle to help turn the latex balloons we use in our displays, into the bouncy flooring used in children's playgrounds.
How it works
-
Setup
When your event is finalised we will come and setup your event display and make sure everything is done sustainably for you
-
Collection
After the event is finished we will return and collect all the balloons we used and take them back with us to be recycled. Or you can post your latex balloons back to our studio
-
Recycling
We return all the used latex balloons to Terracycle using their Zero Waste program, to be recycled into the bouncy playground floors
FAQ
Do you collect the latex balloons after the event??
Yes we do. We collect all the latex balloons that we have used and take them back to our studio for recycling.
What happens to the latex balloons after it's recycled?
We collect the used latex balloons and send them to Terracycle, who then reproduce the waste into raw latex material pellets. These pellets are then transformed into the children's playground flooring.
How sustainable are latex balloons?
All of our latex balloons are 100% plastic free, biodegradable and compostable. They're made from natural rubber latex that's sourced from rubber trees. Read more on our sustainability page.
Where do you source your latex from?
Our latex is sourced sustainably from Hevea Brasiliensis Pará rubber trees in South America. They are not chopped down in order to produce Natural Rubber Latex (NRL). It is collected through the non-harmful process of tapping mature trees.
About TerraCycle
TerraCycle create collection and recycling methods for hundreds of different types of difficult to recycle waste, such as coffee cups, crisp packets, and toothbrushes. Because these are not recyclable using traditional methods, they provide alternatives through their recycling programmes.
